{"id":114907,"date":"2026-02-15T23:54:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T23:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/114907\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T23:54:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T23:54:12","slug":"freedom-house-ems-program-in-pittsburgh-graduates-new-class-celebrates-5-years-since-revival-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/114907\/","title":{"rendered":"Freedom House EMS program in Pittsburgh graduates new class, celebrates 5 years since revival \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The Freedom House Academy in Pittsburgh celebrated a new class of EMS graduates on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The program is named after the original Freedom House Ambulance Service in the Hill District, the first modern ambulance service that was staffed entirely by Black men and women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The program is now celebrating its fifth year of reviving the original model.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A few alumni came back for Friday\u2019s ceremony.
