The Bethlehem Fire Department\u00a0and its partners handled two house fires Friday, less than two hours apart and spanning the city.<\/p>\n
Two firefighters suffered burns in the second call, in the 1900 block of\u00a0Hart Street\u00a0in\u00a0Northeast Bethlehem, according to city fire Chief\u00a0Matthew Griffin.<\/p>\n
They were evaluated by Bethlehem EMS but did not require immediate hospital treatment, planning instead to follow up at a St. Luke\u2019s\u00a0University Health Network\u00a0facility, Griffin said.<\/p>\n
No one else was reported hurt in either the\u00a0Hart Street\u00a0fire, reported about\u00a011:20 a.m., or the earlier fire called in about\u00a09:30 a.m.\u00a0in the 1400 block of\u00a0East Fifth Street\u00a0on the city\u2019s Southside.<\/p>\n
Both fires occurred in single-family homes, and the causes are under investigation by Bethlehem\u2019s fire marshal.<\/p>\n
Fire officials called in a third alarm on the\u00a0East Fifth Street\u00a0call, bringing in additional staff and mutual aid assistance from the\u00a0Allentown Fire Department<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
