ERIE, Colo. \u2014 A 2-year-old child was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Erie Sunday afternoon, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said the crash happened around 4:40 p.m. Sunday in the neighborhood northeast of Mountain View Boulevard and Village Vista Drive. First responders responded immediately, but the child died despite lifesaving efforts, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said the driver left the scene. Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to call Boulder County dispatch at 303-441-4444.<\/p>\n
Erie police said this was the third serious traffic crash in the town this weekend. Just after midnight Sunday morning, a driver was killed and a passenger was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Erie Parkway, police said. Both victims were 18-year-old men from Commerce City. Police said the initial investigation indicates the driver was speeding when he crossed the median and hit a guardrail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
