A person is fighting for their life after getting hit by a car while walking along the shoulder on Black Horse Pike on Sunday morning, police said.<\/p>\n
The hit-and-run happened at around 4:34 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, on State Highway 42 in the area of Whitman Drive in Washington Township, police said. <\/p>\n
The car involved, a 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon), was driving southbound when it struck the person on its passenger side and then fled the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
The driver has since been identified using license plate reading technology, police said. <\/p>\n
The person injured was first taken to a nearby hospital, but has since been airlifted to another hospital for advanced treatment, police said.<\/p>\n
