An 18-year-old Commerce City man died early Sunday in a high-speed, single-car crash on Erie Parkway that seriously injured another man and set his car on fire.<\/p>\n
Police responded to the crash just after midnight Saturday night, according to an Erie Police Department social media post<\/a>. The man was reportedly driving \u201cextremely\u201d fast eastbound before crossing the median into oncoming westbound traffic, the post states. The crash closed the road between Colliers Boulevard and Ambrose Street for about nine hours.\n<\/p>\n Police found the man\u2019s car fully engulfed in flames, and Mountain View Fire Rescue crews took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the post states.\n<\/p>\n Another 18-year-old man, the only passenger, was taken to a hospital with serious bodily injuries, according to the post.\n<\/p>\n Sunday morning\u2019s incidentwas the first of two fatal crashes on Sunday in Erie and the third serious crash over the weekend in Erie.<\/p>\n Sunday afternoon, a 2-year-old was killed in a hit-and-run crash<\/a> in southeast Erie.
