A Camden County man has been charged in connection with an alleged robbery of a Berlin Township McDonald\u2019s on Friday, officials said.<\/p>\n

William Alvarado Jr., 42, of West Berlin, was charged with second-degree robbery, the Camden County Prosecutor\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

Police responded at about 6:39 a.m. Friday to the McDonald\u2019s on the 200 block of Route 73 and learned that a masked suspect, later identified as Alvarado Jr., had entered the restaurant and demanded that employees hand over money.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Alvarado Jr. kept his hands inside his sweatshirt pocket, leading employees to believe he was armed with a firearm. After receiving money, he fled the scene on foot.<\/p>\n

No firearms were displayed, and there were no reported injuries, officials said.<\/p>\n

Investigators used surveillance video from multiple locations to track Alvarado Jr. from the restaurant to his vehicle and later to his West Berlin residence. <\/p>\n

He was arrested, charged and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a future court appearance. <\/p>\n

Police activity in the area prompted the Berlin Township School District to cancel class Friday, according to a Patch.com<\/a> report.<\/p>\n
