ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A well-known former teacher and\u00a0Science Department Chair at Allentown Central Catholic high School has died.<\/p>\n
John M. Rosenberger died Monday, according to a message to the community from the school.<\/p>\n
Rosenberger, also known as \u201cRosie,\u201d was a 1974 alumnus of Allentown Central Catholic High School.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Known as a “Viking Legend,” the school says he will be remembered for his long-term dedication to educating and mentoring students, as well as his support of various sports teams \u2014 including football, basketball, volleyball, and wrestling.<\/p>\n
The school says Rosenberger was often referred to as the “Voice of the Vikings.” He was inducted into the Rockne Wall of Fame in 2017. In 2023, he was honored with the “Always Faithful” Semper Fidelis Award, according to a message to the community.<\/p>\n
The school says he has been described by colleagues and students as a “wonderful guy” who embodied the spirit of ACCHS.<\/p>\n
“He will be greatly missed by the thousands of lives he touched,” the school said.<\/p>\n
