{"id":11641,"date":"2025-10-22T19:45:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T19:45:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/11641\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T19:45:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T19:45:06","slug":"more-people-banned-from-gambling-in-pennsylvania-72k-in-fines-levied","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/11641\/","title":{"rendered":"More people banned from gambling in Pennsylvania; $72k in fines levied"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(WTAJ) \u2014 Multiple more people were placed on the exclusion list, effectively banning them from gambling in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (\u201cBoard\u201d) announced on Wednesday that it had taken action and placed 11 individuals on its various involuntary exclusion lists. Placement on the lists prohibits someone from gaming in a PA casino, via an online betting site regulated by the Board, or a Video Gaming Terminal (VGT) location.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Of the 11, 10 of the people were placed on the Involuntary Casino Exclusion List \u2014 three of whom left children unattended in vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A male and a female patron who together left two children, ages 11 and 12, in a vehicle in the parking lot of Hollywood Casino Morgantown for 32 minutes while they gambled on slot machines and in the sportsbook.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A female patron who left three children, ages 2, 6 and 12, in a vehicle in the parking lot of Hollywood Casino York for 29 minutes while she gambled on slot machines and at table games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cActions such as these to deny statewide gambling privileges serve as a reminder that adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in the parking lot or garage, a hotel, or other venues at a casino since it creates a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment for the children,\u201d the Board said. \u201cTo complement the efforts by casinos to mitigate this issue, the Board created an awareness campaign, \u201cDon\u2019t Gamble with Kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In addition to those added to the exclusion list, the Board levied $72,000 in fines at their last monthly meeting to include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A $50,000 fine for a VGT establishment in Lock Haven \u2014 $45,000 against the Lucky Seven Travel Plaza and $2,500 each against the two owners of the facility after people under 21, including minors, were able to access the machines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A $12,000 fine against Stadium Casino RE, LLC, which operates Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia for allowing a compromised deck of cards to be used.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A $10,000 fine against Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC, operator of Hollywood Casino York, for allowing an involuntary excluded person to access the gaming floor and gamble.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The next monthly meeting of the Gaming Control Board is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at its public hearing room on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
