COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Columbia City Council is currently holding a meeting to take the first step toward repealing the current moratorium on short-term rentals<\/a>. <\/p>\n The moratorium was initially put in place following a June 2025 shooting at an Airbnb in Columbia that killed one and injured three<\/a>. <\/p>\n Since then, the council has worked to change the rules regarding short-term rentals within Columbia\u2019s city limits. <\/p>\n The council is also discussing potential changes to the city\u2019s unified development codes to allow exemptions for certain short-term rentals. <\/p>\n The meeting started at 4 p.m. <\/p>\n Feel more informed, prepared, and connected with WIS.
