PITTSBURGH \u2014 Four men are wanted in a brutal armed robbery and beating of a man in Downtown Pittsburgh. <\/p>\n
Police say Shakeem Griffey, Caleb Mitchell, Mateke Katzbeck and Karron Waller conspired together to attack and rob a man on Smithfield Street and Fifth Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh. This happened last Tuesday, around 8 p.m., and was captured on city cameras. <\/p>\n
Court paperwork says the victim had such severe injuries to his face and head that he wasn\u2019t able to tell police all of the details, and three of the men originally detained by police were released. <\/p>\n
In court paperwork, police say one of the suspects, Shakeem Griffey, pointed a gun at the victim and \u201cthrew upwards of 20-30 punches to the victim while he is lying in the fetal position.\u201d<\/p>\n
Officers added \u201cthe attack seemed like a preplanned event, as the actors arrived together, attacked together and left together.\u201d <\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s tablet was stolen from him during the attack. <\/p>\n
People who work downtown said this incident is concerning. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s terrible,\u201d Liz Davis said. \u201cYou should be ashamed, obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n
Davis added that she does feel safe Downtown, and this won\u2019t make her change any of her habits. <\/p>\n
\u201cI do feel like there is a lot of presence – I do see a lot of police going through,\u201d Davis said. \u201cI don\u2019t feel that it\u2019s unsafe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tom Bannon says he\u2019s seen people get robbed Downtown in the middle of the day. <\/p>\n
\u201cTerrible, just terrible, you can\u2019t walk around the street without your bag being stolen,\u201d Bannon tells Channel 11. \u201cTurn yourself in. Face your charges that you\u2019re going to get and don\u2019t do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police learned Griffey is not allowed to have a gun from a previous criminal conviction, and there was a warrant for his arrest at the time of the attack. <\/p>\n
