{"id":117218,"date":"2026-02-18T16:41:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T16:41:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/117218\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T16:41:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T16:41:06","slug":"carnegie-international-will-return-with-over-60-artists-this-may-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/117218\/","title":{"rendered":"Carnegie International will return with over 60 artists this May \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The Carnegie Museum of Art announced that 61 artists and art collectives from around the world will participate in the 59th Carnegie International.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The oldest North American exhibition of contemporary art, The Carnegie International has been held at its namesake museum since its inception in 1896. It is also the second-longest-running international survey exhibition after Italy\u2019s Venice Biennale exhibition. This year\u2019s edition will begin on May 2 and run through January 3, 2027. It is the second edition of the exhibition to be held since the pandemic, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2021\/06\/16\/carnegie-international-to-return-in-2022.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after the 58th was held in 2022 and 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Titled \u2018if the word we,\u2019 this edition draws inspiration and its title from an essay by writer Haytham el-Wardany.
