EPHRATA, Pa. – A truck-maker based in Berks County is closing a manufacturing facility in Lancaster County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.<\/p>\n
A notice filed in accordance with the\u00a0Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act says Morgan Truck Body will shutter its plant at\u00a0485 Wenger Drive in Ephrata.<\/p>\n
92 workers will be impacted by the closure, which takes effect on December 15, the WARN notice said.<\/p>\n
69 News reached out to Morgan Truck for more information but did not get a response.<\/p>\n
The company has several manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada, including its headquarters at\u00a0111 Morgan Way in Caernarvon Township, Berks County.<\/p>\n
According to its website, Morgan Truck Body was founded in 1952 by\u00a0Elton Mountz in a small welding shop.<\/p>\n
The company later grew into a major manufacturer of commercial truck bodies. Its fleet includes dry freight and refrigerated box trucks, furniture movers, platform trucks and dump trucks.<\/p>\n
Morgan Truck is a subsidiary of J.B.
