On Wednesday at 8:13 p.m. a dense fog advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Thursday at 9 a.m. for Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Armstrong and Indiana counties.<\/p>\n

The weather service adds to prepare for, “Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.”<\/p>\n

“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous,” states the weather service. “If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”<\/p>\n

If no designated parking area is available, pull your vehicle as far off the road as possible. Once stationary, deactivate all lights except the hazard flashers, engage the emergency brake, and release the brake pedal to ensure your tail lights are not illuminated, reducing the risk of other drivers colliding with your stationary vehicle.<\/p>\n
