{"id":118507,"date":"2026-02-19T23:11:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T23:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/118507\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T23:11:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T23:11:06","slug":"york-water-company-pennsylvania-public-utilities-commission-settle-rate-increase-request","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/118507\/","title":{"rendered":"York Water Company, Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission settle rate increase request"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Customers of The York Water Company will soon see higher water and wastewater bills after the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorkwater.com\/the-york-water-company-announces-settlement-of-rate-request\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:approved a joint settlement;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">approved a joint settlement<\/a> allowing new base rates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox43.com\/article\/news\/local\/york-county\/pa-public-utility-commission-hearings-york-water-companys-increase-rates\/521-de6dd84f-06c6-4ae7-9cdf-363312302294\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:rate changes take effect;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">rate changes take effect<\/a> on March 1 and are expected to generate about $18.85 million in additional annual revenue for the utility, the York Water Company said in a press release on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe York Water Company is committed to providing safe, reliable, and affordable water and wastewater services,\u201d said JT Hand, President and CEO of The York Water Company. \u201cThis disciplined rate adjustment allows us to reinvest in our system, ensuring that we can continue meeting the needs of our growing communities while meeting or exceeding the increasing regulatory demands placed on our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The York Water Company petitioned the PUC to approve a rate increase last year.
