{"id":118742,"date":"2026-02-20T04:46:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T04:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/118742\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T04:46:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T04:46:07","slug":"man-facing-charges-after-2-children-found-left-alone-in-pittsburgh-home-test-positive-for-cocaine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/118742\/","title":{"rendered":"Man facing charges after 2 children found left alone in Pittsburgh home test positive for cocaine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A father is facing charges after police say both of his kids tested positive for cocaine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Jason Mallery was charged with two counts of endangering welfare on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">According to a criminal complaint, a CYF worker found the children, aged 10 and five, were found home alone on Mayville Avenue in Brookline on Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. during a welfare check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The children underwent a physical at UPMC Children\u2019s Hospital, per standard operations, and both tested positive for cocaine, police say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Pittsburgh Police said they got a search warrant and served it at the home. There, they reported finding numerous narcotics and a stamp bag inside Mallery\u2019s pants pocket.
