The event aimed to offer spiritual support for those being held at the prison.<\/p>\n<p>We spoke with Sister Jacqueline Sanchez-Small of the Benedictine Sisters. She said it doesn\u2019t matter where someone comes from \u2014 everyone should be treated like family and deserves protection.<\/p>\n<p>Sanchez-Small added \u201cthat seeing so many people gathered in front of the prison shows the community\u2019s willingness to stand together and support their neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPope Leo and Pope Francis before him were very concerned \u2014 as we all are \u2014 about the treatment of our brothers and sisters who are immigrants in this country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It was a quiet gathering just across from the Erie County Prison.
