ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown police officers responded to a report of shots fired early Sunday, discovering one injured person and evidence of a shooting.<\/p>\n
According to an Allentown Police press release, at approximately 2 a.m., officers arrived at the Vyral Lounge & Bar, formally known as the Chicago Sports Bar and Grill, at 1179 Airport Road.<\/p>\n
“I heard the cruisers coming down the side street and oh my God, it woke me out of a dead sleep,” said Dolores Norris.\u00a0 “When I jumped up and I looked to the window, I was like ‘oh no a shooting again.'”<\/p>\n
Police said officers found a person who had been shot.<\/p>\n
Investigators said two other victims arrived at the hospital.<\/p>\n
“Now I was just over at my other neighbors and he said he heard the gun go off. He said it sounded like the person emptied a clip,” said Norris.<\/p>\n
Police said officers saw someone get rid of a gun under a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Javien Sabater, 24, is charged with having a gun illegally and Tampering with Evidence.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n Man who escaped Macungie police custody is caught after allegedly breaking into fire-damaged home<\/a><\/p>\n In 2023, he allegedly escaped from the custody of Macungie Police.<\/p>\n At that time, police said he was arrested following a domestic incident.<\/p>\n Norris’ husband John said he slept through the gunshots at Vyral Lounge and Bar.<\/p>\n “She woke me up and was like there’s 14 cruisers in the parking lot,” said John Norris.<\/p>\n Norris said there was a shooting here before when the place was called Chicago Bar and Grille, all near a neighborhood they have called home for 26 years.<\/p>\n “I don’t feel good about it. I don’t have bulletproof windows,” said John Norris.<\/p>\n “I’ve been sick to my gut all day with this cause I thought we had it straightened out,” said Doloris Norris.<\/p>\n State Representative Joshua Siegel said people should be able to experience nightlife without fear.<\/p>\n “But also, I feel about the neighbors. Every neighborhood deserves the right to security and the ability to feel safe in their own home, so it’s bothersome that we have another instance of nightlife and somebody making a stupid decision and a cowardly act of violence that kind of shatters the safety in the neighborhood,” said Representative Siegel.<\/p>\n Police said all of the victims have non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n Anyone with information is asked to contact police.<\/p>\n The Allentown Police Department is asking anyone with information to call Detectives at 610-437-7721 or the Police Desk at 610-437-7753 (ext. 1).
