\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Ilie Belivakici, 89, a resident of Clarks Summit Senior Living, formerly of Nicholson, passed on Thursday at home. He is survived by his wife, Ursula Haas Belivakici. Born in Romania, he is the son of the late Dragina and Milivose Belivakici. Ilie graduated High School in Romania and was a graduate of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.<\/p>\n
\nIlie invented plastic soda bottles, high density Styrofoam cups and secured the patents at American Can.<\/p>\n
\nIlie was employed as an engineer in the optical quality lenses industry and was the developer of the process to manufacture optical plastic lenses at Gentex.<\/p>\n
\nIlie was a US ARMY veteran serving in the infantry.<\/p>\n
\nHe is survived by his wife, Ursula, 1 son, Thomas Belivakici and wife Crystal, Hanover, PA 2 daughters, Ruth Belivakici Davies and husband Bruce, Scranton, and Donna Fedorka, Dickson City, 2 sisters in Germany and Switzerland, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and predeceased by 1 granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Davies in 2009.<\/p>\n
\nA Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Services are under the direction and care of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, West Scranton.<\/p>\n
