(WHTM)\u2013 Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro once again addressed the potential deployment of ICE agents in Pennsylvania, saying, \u201cDon\u2019t come. We do not want it,\u201d and spoke about his relationship with Sen. Fetterman during an appearance on ABC News\u2019 This Week.<\/p>\n
Governor Shapiro sat down with ABC News\u2019 Martha Raddatz for a one-on-one interview that aired on Sunday, speaking about the potential deployment of ICE agents in Pennsylvania, his relationship with Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), President Donald Trump, and his new book.<\/a><\/p>\n There has been talk of ICE operations possibly happening in Pennsylvania. Governor Shapiro has previously responded to rumors of operations in Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Pittsburgh<\/a>. He doubled down on his stance during the interview, saying, \u201cWe do not want that kind of chaos in our communities in Pennsylvania, so don\u2019t come, but if you come, we are prepared to address it.\u201d<\/p>\n Shapiro also spoke about his relationship with John Fetterman<\/a> in response to a New York Times article titled \u201cWhy Pennsylvania\u2019s Two Most Powerful Democrats Don\u2019t Speak.\u201d The governor shot down the claims that the two do not speak, and claimed they have a constructive relationship to try and ensure the people of Pennsylvania are served.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked whether he would support Fetterman if the Senator sought re-election in 2028, Shapiro said he has to wait and see what Fetterman decides to do.<\/p>\n The governor also sharply criticized President Trump\u2019s use of global tariffs during the interview, saying they are driving up prices and hurting Pennsylvania farmers and small businesses.<\/p>\n President Trump and Shapiro\u2019s relationship has not been one of support, with the Pennsylvania Governor taking him to court 19 times during his time in office.<\/p>\n
