Pennsylvania Go. Josh Shapiro dismissed a New York Times story about his relationship with Sen. John Fetterman<\/a>, D-Pa., on ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week\u201d Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the show, host Martha Raddatz asked the Democratic governor to comment on a New York Times article that claimed he and Fetterman \u201cdon\u2019t speak.\u201d Shapiro insisted the report was \u201cnot true\u201d and was created by journalists to \u201cconjure up a lot of drama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raddatz then asked whether he would support Fetterman for re-election.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, he has to decide if he\u2019s seeking re-election,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cThat\u2019s not for another cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI don\u2019t know if he\u2019s running for re-election. I think he needs to decide if he\u2019s running, and then we\u2019ll make a decision from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raddatz asked Shapiro to clarify whether he meant that he had not yet decided to support Fetterman.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe needs to decide if he\u2019s running for re-election, and then we\u2019ll make a determination thereafter,\u201d Shapiro repeated.<\/p>\n

Though Shapiro did not answer whether he and Fetterman still speak, Shapiro described his relationship with Fetterman as \u201cconstructive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a constructive relationship to try to ensure that the people of Pennsylvania are served. He and I are obviously different people, he casts some votes and takes some positions that I strongly disagree with but at the end of the day my job is to serve the people of Pennsylvania,\u201d Shapiro said.<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital<\/a> reached out to Fetterman\u2019s office for comment.<\/p>\n

Fetterman similarly declined to endorse Shapiro for re-election in 2028 when repeatedly asked by Politico\u2019s Dasha Burns<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate his service. We both support our services,\u201d Fetterman said.<\/p>\n

Fetterman\u2019s memoir \u201cUnfettered\u201d revealed an incident where he called Shapiro a \u201cf\u2014\u2014 a\u2014\u2014\u201d over a 2020 parole board dispute<\/a>, threatening to run for governor in 2022 to primary Shapiro.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told him there were two tracks \u2014 that one and the one in which he ran for governor and I ran for the Senate (which was the one I preferred),\u201d Fetterman wrote.<\/p>\n

Fetterman wrote that his relationship with Shapiro never recovered after their dispute.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sincerely wish him the best,\u201d Fetterman wrote. \u201cHe is a credit to the state and may one day be a credit to the country.
