ALLENTOWN, Pa. –\u00a0Two people are in serious condition and 16 others have been displaced after a two-alarm fire tore through a home in Allentown on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
911 dispatchers say firefighters were dispatched at 10:36 a.m. to a house fire on the 200 block of North 17th Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
One resident escaped the house to a rear roof and was rescued by firefighters, according to the Allentown fire department.<\/p>\n
With additional reports of more people being entrapped, additional paramedic units were called along with a second alarm, fire officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A person was found unconscious on the second floor and was rescued by firefighters, according to fire crews.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Nobody else was found throughout the building upon multiple searches.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Both people were transported to the hospital and are in serious condition, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Crews brought the fire under control within about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n
Approximately 16 people have been displaced from the building which is uninhabitable, according to fire officials.<\/p>\n
All other residents self-evacuated and were not injured.<\/p>\n
There were no injuries to any firefighters.\u00a0<\/p>\n
