Most Lehigh Valley school districts have already declared a snow day for Monday due to the winter storm gripping the region<\/a> \u2014 though in the world of remote learning, that doesn\u2019t mean classes are canceled for most students.<\/p>\n

Children in Northampton Area, Northwestern Lehigh and Saucon Valley school districts may be the happiest in the region. The districts declared it a \u201ctraditional snow day,\u201d with all schools, offices and campuses closed Monday.\u00a0There will be no nonpublic transportation, and all athletics, extracurricular activities and community events are canceled.<\/p>\n

As of Sunday evening, only a handful of districts had not posted messages on their websites about a snow day: Bangor Area, Bethlehem Area, Easton Area, Nazareth Area, Pen Argyl, Salisbury, and Wilson Area.<\/p>\n

Here are the district that have closed:<\/p>\n

Allentown<\/p>\n

Allentown plans a virtual learning day; teachers will use Zoom and follow their regular daily schedules.\u00a0Additional information and assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.<\/p>\n

There will be no transportation to charter schools, Lehigh Career & Technical Institute or Lehigh Carbon Community College campuses.\u00a0 After-school and evening activities are canceled.<\/p>\n

Catasauqua Area<\/p>\n

The district declared a virtual snow day. It said all K-8 parents will be contacted via ParentSquare, and all high school students should follow their virtual snow day schedule. There will be no transportation.<\/p>\n

East Penn<\/p>\n

East Penn School District will have a flexible instructional day.<\/p>\n

Nazareth Area<\/p>\n

The district declared a traditional snow day.<\/p>\n

Northern Lehigh<\/p>\n

Northern Lehigh will have a virtual instructional day. Teachers will provide instructions and virutal office hours for students, and all offices will operate remotely.<\/p>\n

Northwestern Lehigh<\/p>\n

The district declared a traditional snow day.<\/p>\n

Parkland<\/p>\n

Parkland will have a virtual flexible instruction day. For more details, go to parklandsd.org\/FID<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Southern Lehigh<\/p>\n

The district declared a virtual learning day \u201cafter a careful assessment and consultation with the transportation department and other officials to prioritize the safety of our students, staff and bus drivers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whitehall-Coplay<\/p>\n
