A teenager on a scooter going the wrong way was injured when he was struck by a motorist on State Road in Upper Darby.<\/p>\n
The 14-year-old victim from Aldan was taken to Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia with a leg injury.<\/p>\n
According to a report from Upper Darby police Lt. Daniel Oliveri:<\/p>\n
Officers responded Saturday about 1:45 p.m. to the 1700 block of South State Road for a pedestrian struck.<\/p>\n
On location, officers found the teen lying in the roadway with the striking vehicle and its operator, who remained on location.<\/p>\n
The driver stated that he was pulling out of a business, Delco Mulch, and turned right onto State Road toward West Chester Pike when the juvenile, on the scooter, was struck.<\/p>\n
Police said the juvenile was driving the scooter in the right lane towards oncoming traffic, and the vehicle operator did not see him.<\/p>\n
Police said there were no traffic violations.
