(WHP) \u2014 An Amtrak employee has died after he was hit by a train Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Charles, 39, of Holtwood, Pennsylvania, was working with a crew when he was struck around Greenfield Road in East Lampeter Township, according to the Lancaster County Coroner&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The coroner&#8217;s office said investigators arrived to find Charles near the tracks, and he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to the Lancaster County Forensic Center, the coroner said, and an autopsy will be scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Amtrak said all service is suspended on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amtrak.com\/keystone-service-train\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Keystone service route<\/a> for the rest of Monday while the incident remains under investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Amtrak extends our profound condolences to the family of an employee who suffered a fatal injury today on the Harrisburg Line near Lancaster, Pa,&#8221; Amtrak Corporate Communications wrote in a statement to CBS 21. &#8220;Our thoughts are with their loved ones during this difficult time.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.
