{"id":122055,"date":"2026-02-24T12:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T12:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/122055\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T12:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T12:59:08","slug":"arrest-made-in-murder-of-pennsylvania-woman-beat-to-death-inside-summit-county-hotel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/122055\/","title":{"rendered":"Arrest made in murder of Pennsylvania woman beat to death inside Summit County hotel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) &#8211; An Akron man is now facing several charges for the murder of Erie, Pennsylvania woman inside a Copley hotel room earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Marcus Dangelo Price, 29, of Akron, pleaded not guilty to murder, felonious assault, rape, and kidnapping at his arraignment in Barberton Municipal Court on Feb. 20.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Marcus Dangelo Price\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/JGAKJNWMLRCITJXZ62NHFFMCTE.JPG\" width=\"980\" height=\"542\" \/>Marcus Dangelo Price(Julia Thyret | (Source: Summit County Sheriff))<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to Copley Police Chief Mike Mier, Price killed Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale, at the Copley Inn &amp; Suites on Rothrock Rd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pasquale was found on Jan. 1.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Officers said the victim, identified as Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale, was found dead Jan. 1...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/P5C6MB7XPFB6LML4TE6OJWC4F4.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Officers said the victim, identified as Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale, was found dead Jan. 1 inside a hotel on Rothrock Road.(Source: Brianna Pasquale)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Summit County Medical Examiner Office determined Pasquale, 24, had been beaten to death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Shawnna\u2019s sister, Rachel, said she relocated to the area about a month before the murder from Erie. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think this was her way to get out of Erie, start fresh, get a hotel, get a job, get a home, that\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking and I\u2019m hoping,\u201d said Rachel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Price is being held on a $2 million bond at the Summit County Jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WOIO.
