The 2026-2027 season of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) will feature four full-length story ballets and one mixed-repertoire program.<\/p>\n
Titled \u201cEscape Into Wonder,\u201d the season will include family-friendly productions, world premieres and works by acclaimed choreographers. The five-program season runs October through May 2027, and includes \u201cGiselle\u201d with the PBT Orchestra, \u201cThe Nutcracker\u201d, \u201cAlice in Wonderland,\u201d \u201cSpring Mix: World Premieres\u201d and \u201cThe Sleeping Beauty\u201d with the PBT Orchestra.<\/p>\n

PBT\u2019s season begins with one of classical ballet\u2019s masterpieces, \u201cGiselle.\u201d The ballet tells the tragic, romantic story of a young peasant girl who dies of a broken heart. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Nutcracker\u201d<\/p>\n
Dec. 4-27, 2026<\/p>\n

Terrence S. Orr\u2019s beloved version of \u201cThe Nutcracker\u201d returns for its final year. Set in turn-of-the-20th-century Pittsburgh, Orr\u2019s \u201cThe Nutcracker\u201d takes audiences on an adventure with Marie and the Nutcracker Prince as they journey through swirling snow and into the Land of Enchantment, where they meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and hundreds of colorful characters. <\/p>\n
\u201cAlice in Wonderland\u201d <\/p>\n

Based on the beloved Lewis Carroll books with world premiere choreography, \u201cAlice in Wonderland\u201d comes to life with familiar characters, such as the eccentric Mad Hatter, the evil Queen of Hearts and the mysterious White Rabbit. <\/p>\n
\u201cSpring Mix: World Premieres\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSpring Mix: World Premieres\u201d is an all-premiere mixed repertory program featuring the works of award-winning choreographer Omar Rom\u00e1n de Jes\u00fas and all-new creations by three PBT company artists. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sleeping Beauty\u201d with the PBT Orchestra<\/p>\n
May 7-9, 2027<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sleeping Beauty\u201d will come to life with dances by Princess Aurora and Prince D\u00e9sir\u00e9, the vengeful Carabosse and storybook characters including Puss \u2018n Boots, the White Cat and Bluebird and Princess Florine.<\/p>\n
