<\/p>\n NUTTER FORT, W.Va. \u2013 The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball team earned its second win of the season Friday at the Atlantic Crossover, defeating Salem 8-3 behind a five-run ninth inning.<\/p>\n Derrick Shields<\/a> earned the start for the Crimson Hawks and delivered six innings of one-hit shutout baseball to pick up the win.<\/p>\n IUP out-hit Salem 7-6, with Teague Hoover<\/a> recording the Crimson Hawks’ lone extra-base hit. Hoover also added his first stolen base of the season. Ricardo Aponte<\/a> continued his strong start to the year, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Devon Boyles<\/a> and Anthony Annichine<\/a> each added two hits, with Annichine finishing 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.<\/p>\n Nathan Porath<\/a> and Addison Clymer<\/a> combined for three innings of relief. Porath allowed two hits and one earned run over two innings, while Clymer surrendered three hits and two earned runs in the ninth inning.<\/p>\n The Crimson Hawks attacked the strike zone throughout the game, recording five strikeouts without issuing a walk.<\/p>\n IUP returns to action Saturday in Morgantown, West Virginia, where the Crimson Hawks will face Glenville State.
