The Berks County Bar Association is inviting students in grades 5 through 8 to participate in its 2026 Law Day Multimedia Competition, encouraging young people to explore the role of law in American life through creative projects.<\/p>\n
According to the Bar Association, this year\u2019s Law Day theme is \u201cThe Rule of Law and the American Dream,\u201d which highlights the idea that no individual is above the law and that the rule of law helps protect individual rights while allowing citizens to pursue their goals.<\/p>\n
In recognition of the United States\u2019 upcoming 250th anniversary, students are asked to create projects that explain how events over the past 250 years have shaped the country today and to provide examples of how they would like the nation to improve over the next 250 years.<\/p>\n
Submissions must be original and align with community standards. Students may enter projects in a variety of formats, including short video (three minutes or less), photography, painting, drawing, collage, poster, poem or essay. Entries must include the student\u2019s name, school, grade level, email address and phone number.<\/p>\n
Projects must be submitted by email to Emily Bucolo at ebucolo@berksbar.org by Monday, April 13, 2026. Two winners will be selected from grades 5\u20136 and two from grades 7\u20138.<\/p>\n
Winners will receive cash awards of $200 for first place and $150 for second place. The Bar Association said winners, along with their parents and teachers, will be invited to attend a Law Day celebration in May.<\/p>\n
The Berks County Bar Association supports the legal profession by promoting professional excellence, encouraging collegiality and advocating on behalf of its members.
