(WHP) \u2014 There are 12 confirmed measles cases among Pennsylvania residents as of Feb. 27, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.<\/p>\n<p>Eight of those cases are in Lancaster County, three are in Montgomery County and one is in Chester County, the DOH told CBS 21.<\/p>\n<p>The number of cases in the state have more than doubled since Feb. 19, when Pennsylvania reported five cases.<\/p>\n<p>SEE PREVIOUS COVERAGE | <a href=\"https:\/\/local21news.com\/news\/local\/measles-cases-rise-as-doctors-warn-of-wider-outbreak-risks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Measles cases rise as doctors warn of wider outbreak risks<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All 12 of the confirmed cases occurred among unvaccinated residents, the DOH said. <\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania&#8217;s measles outbreak is part of a national trend, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reporting 1,136 confirmed cases in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, there were 2,281 confirmed cases nationally and 16 cases in Pennsylvania. 93% of the cases were among people who were unvaccinated, according to the CDC. <\/p>\n<p>More information on measles and symptoms can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/health\/diseases-conditions\/infectious-disease\/measles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Department of Health&#8217;s website.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.
