HARMAR TWP., Pa. (EYT) \u2014 Police have filed criminal charges against a New Bethlehem business owner following a hit-and-run accident involving a truck and a sedan in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. <\/p>\n
Court records show that Kathy Carlson, 61, of New Bethlehem, who owns Valley Advantages LLC, faces the following charges:<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Harmar Township Police Department, investigators used surveillance footage and license plate readers to identify the driver who allegedly fled the scene.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on January 10 around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Freeport Road and State Route 910 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
The complaint states a victim reported a white Chevrolet truck entered her lane while making a left turn. The victim told police she followed the truck and signaled for the driver to pull over. The truck allegedly continued onto Route 28 north at a high rate of speed before the victim lost sight of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Police used the license plate number provided by the victim to identify the truck as belonging to Carlson\u2019s company. The investigating officer reviewed surveillance footage from the intersection. According to the affidavit, the video shows the Chevrolet truck striking the passenger side of the victim\u2019s vehicle and spinning it around. The complaint said the operator of the truck never stopped and continued the turn while against the victim\u2019s vehicle, causing damage to the entire driver\u2019s side of the victim\u2019s sedan.<\/p>\n
Investigators also reviewed security footage from a nearby business where the truck had been parked earlier that day. The complaint states Carlson was seen exiting the driver\u2019s seat at 4:45 p.m. The affidavit says Carlson was clearly seen entering the driver\u2019s seat again at 8:34 p.m., approximately six minutes before the accident.<\/p>\n
Court records show Carlson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael J.
