From walking tours spotlighting revolutionary trailblazers to lavender lattes that give back, Philadelphia<\/a> is marking Women\u2019s History Month with a citywide celebration. Throughout the month of March, local hotels, museums, restaurants and community groups are hosting special events to honor women\u2019s stories and support women-focused causes.<\/p>\n Kimpton Hotel Palomar + Beyond the Bell Tours<\/p>\n The Kimpton Hotel Palomar and Beyond the Bell Tours have teamed up for the occasion and will be offering the Badass Women\u2019s History Tour throughout March. While on the journey, participants will hear stories of different entrepreneurs, doctors, politicians, artists, and activists who helped shape Philadelphia. Tickets come out to be $59 (hotel guests and groups can redeem an exclusive 10% discount), and tours will be held daily at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n 117 S. 17th St., hotelpalomar-philadelphia.com<\/a><\/p>\n Loretta\u2019s<\/p>\n Loretta\u2019s latest sip is inspired by both Women\u2019s History Month and the Philadelphia Flower Show<\/a>. The women-led business has created the Steel Magnolia ($9), an iced lavender Earl Grey latte with salted honey whip (garnished with dried flowers). Throughout March, Storyteller Saturdays (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will feature award-winning Once Upon A Nation storytellers shining a light on women\u2019s \u201coften-overlooked contributions to American history.\u201d On History Maker Sundays (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), locals can meet businesswomen, abolitionists, and suffragists from the past.<\/p>\n Then on March 22 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), locals can head to the venue for Meet the Women of the Betsy Ross House. There, you\u2019ll encounter Betsy as a young seamstress secretly stitching the nation\u2019s first flag, and later as Betsy Ashburn, the remarried upholsterer crafting musket cartridges for the Continental Army.<\/p>\n 239 Arch St., historicphiladelphia.org<\/a><\/p>\n Alice \u00a0<\/p>\n At Alice, a sweet treat will do some good during Women\u2019s History Month. For every Blood Orange Bundt Cake sold, the Italian Market restaurant will donate 15% of proceeds to the Philadelphia-based nonprofit, \u00a0Women Against Abuse. Throughout March, the series will offer a curated selection of fitness classes with partners like Tula Yoga and Barry\u2019s Bootcamp (a full schedule and list of prices can be found online). \u00a0Proceeds from this series will directly benefit the JLP\u2019s programs aimed at advancing women\u2019s leadership and creating meaningful community impact across the Greater Philadelphia area. On Saturday, March 7 (2:30 to 4:30 p.m.), the event will feature unlimited pots of tea alongside a curated selection of sweet and savory Philly-inspired bites from Bloomsday\u2019s kitchen. The $80 ticket includes bottomless tea service, a seasonal appetizer soup, a tiered tray of treats, and an exclusive dessert creation from Em Wilson.<\/p>\n 414 S. 2nd St., bloomsdayphilly.com<\/a><\/p>\n Museum of the American Revolution<\/p>\n During March, locals can head to the MoAR\u2019s exhibit, \u2018The Declaration\u2019s Journey\u2019 to learn about different women trailblazers and Revolutionary icons. \u00a0Special programming throughout the month also includes daily 10-minute talks, weekend discovery carts, live theatrical performances of Elizabeth Freeman\u2019s story, member-exclusive tours, and a 21+ Women\u2019s History Night featuring a screening of ‘For the Common Good: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation’\u00a0 (March 18, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.).<\/p>\n All Women\u2019s History Month events and exhibitions are included with regular admission ($14-$27, free for certain groups).
