<\/p>\n INDIANA, Pa. \u2014 The IUP women’s basketball team dropped a PSAC matchup to Gannon, 71-62, on Saturday afternoon at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.<\/p>\n The Crimson Hawks trailed 19-15 after the first quarter but battled back to stay within reach, facing a 30-27 deficit at halftime. IUP remained close through the third quarter before Gannon pulled away in the final period to secure the victory.<\/p>\n Nyshae’ Weaver<\/a> led the Crimson Hawks with 22 points and five rebounds, converting 10 of 11 free-throw attempts. Teresa Maggio<\/a> added 12 points, while Marin Miller<\/a> finished with 10 points. Belle Bosch<\/a> chipped in nine points and six rebounds.<\/p>\n IUP shot 34.7 percent from the field and went 3-for-15 from 3-point range while converting 25 of 29 attempts at the free-throw line.<\/p>\n The Crimson Hawks fall to the No. 2 seed in the West, but still receive a first-round BYE int he PSAC Tournament. IUP will host the winner of Millersville and East Stroudsburg on Wednesday,\u00a0March 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the KCAC.<\/p>\n Tickets will become available to the public online on Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
