\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Harold R. Schlegel, Sr., 85, formerly of Reading, a resident at Ivory Wellness Center, Norristown, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in Ivory Wellness Center. He was the longtime companion of Susan M. (Earhart) Bosold, died August 7, 1998.<\/p>\n
Born in Jefferson Twp., he was the son of the late Harvey M. and Pauline I. (Heilinger) Schlegel. He was a former member of St. Peter\u2019s U.C.C., West Lawn. He worked for 11 years at Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg before retiring in 2001. He was a fan of baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies; and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed reading and word search puzzles. <\/p>\n
He is survived by a son: Harold R. Schlegel, Jr., husband of Cindy L. (Pennsinger) Schlegel, Topton; a granddaughter: Mackenzie R. Schlegel, Pittsburgh; a step-daughter: Alethea M. Bosold; and three siblings: Warren Schlegel, Joyce Schlegel, and Edith (Schlegel) Harbaugh. He was predeceased by his step-son: Robert W. Bosold, Jr.; and his siblings: Iva (Schlegel) Pochuski, and Elsie Schlegel, and Darlene (Schlegel) Warnick. <\/p>\n
Graveside Services were held Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. John\u2019s Cemetery, Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be sent to: St. Peter\u2019s U.C.C., 2901 Curtis Road, Reading, PA 19609 in memory of Harold.
