PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) \u2014 Seven men who committed a series of robberies at Pennsylvania Turnpike and highway rest stops in 2023 have pleaded guilty, according to Attorney General Dave Sunday.<\/p>\n
AG Sunday and State police determined through investigation that John Black, Wendell Compton, Robert Murphy, Darrell Noel, Robert Chandler, Adam Smith and Danny Williams comprised the group that targeted Pennsylvania motorists in Somerset, Westmoreland, and Dauphin counties.<\/p>\n
In a statement released to AG Sunday\u2019s website<\/a> on Tuesday, the Attorney General said the robberies were \u2018distraction-style\u2019, no weapons were used and no one was hurt.<\/p>\n The group was scheduled to go to trial Monday morning when they decided to each plead guilty to five counts of third-degree felony robbery.<\/p>\n Each man was sentenced to at least three months in prison, followed by a period of parole supervision.<\/p>\n \u201cThis group conspired in a series of brazen robberies that endangered motorists targeted at random,\u201d Attorney General Sunday said. \u201cThe fine investigative work from our partners with the state police led to these appropriate plea resolutions.\u201d<\/p>\n Get the latest news, weather forecasts and sports stories delivered straight to your inbox!
