A former Bensalem<\/a> police officer is accused of buying methamphetamines that authorities believe he intended to sell.<\/p>\n

Bucks County detectives arrested Thomas J. Mee, 47, of Langhorne on March 3 as part of an ongoing drug investigation, according to a probable cause affidavit.<\/p>\n

Detectives allege that Mee made arrangements to buy one-quarter pound of methamphetamines for $500.<\/p>\n

A former Bensalem police officer has been charged with purchasing illegal drugs he allegedly intended to sell.<\/p>\n

Mee subsequently agreed to meet with an individual whom he believed to be a drug dealer at a Hilltown Walmart, where the exchange took place and Mee was arrested, the affidavit said.<\/p>\n

The amount of drugs seized in the arrest suggest that Mee possessed them with the intent to distribute them, according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n

Mee was arraigned before District Judge Regina Armitage on felony charges of drug possession and distribution, criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Bucks County Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bail. He had no legal representation listed as of March 4.<\/p>\n

Bensalem Director of Public Safety William McVey confirmed that Mee had been a patrolman for the department for 13 years, leaving in 2019 in good standing for \u201cpersonal reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very disheartening when you see a police officer or ex police officer engage in criminal activity,\u201d McVey added. \u201cHe should face the consequences as\u00a0any person facing these charges.\u201d<\/p>\n
