{"id":130390,"date":"2026-03-05T14:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T14:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/130390\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T14:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T14:46:08","slug":"pennsylvania-man-convicted-of-fraud-for-voting-twice-for-president-donald-trump-in-2020-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/130390\/","title":{"rendered":"Pennsylvania man convicted of fraud for voting twice for President Donald Trump in 2020 election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">A Lehigh Valley man faces possible prison time after a federal jury convicted him of election fraud offenses on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Federal prosecutors said 32-year-old Matthew Laiss, who now lives in Bethlehem, voted twice for President Donald Trump in the 2020 election, doing so in two different states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Court filings show Laiss voted via a mail-in ballot using the Ottsville, Bucks County home where his parents lived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He did so after moving his primary residence to Florida, where he also went to a polling location to cast a ballot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Laiss is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">He faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 to $250,000 fine for each of the charges on which he was convicted.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
