{"id":130469,"date":"2026-03-05T16:40:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T16:40:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/130469\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T16:40:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T16:40:06","slug":"university-of-pittsburgh-ranks-no-7-in-nih-funding-in-2025-with-over-669m-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/130469\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Pittsburgh ranks No. 7 in NIH funding in 2025 with over $669M \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/organization\/university-of-pittsburgh\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">University of Pittsburgh<\/a> ranked No. 7 in total <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/organization\/national-institutes-of-health\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Institutes of Health<\/a> funding for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2025, seeing an increase <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2025\/03\/06\/funding-cuts-nih-preliminary-injunction.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">despite last year\u2019s controversy and changes to federal health research funding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Pitt was awarded $669.67 million in overall funding, according to an analysis from the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research that does annual rankings. That put it just behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/organization\/yale-university\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yale University<\/a>\u2019s $679.87 million and just ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/organization\/stanford-university\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stanford University<\/a>\u2019s $644.45 million.
