PHILADELPHIA — More than 20 states – including Pennsylvania<\/a>, New Jersey<\/a> and Delaware <\/a>– filed a lawsuit Thursday challenging President Trump’s<\/a> new global tariffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The states argue that the president is overstepping his authority with planned 15% tariffs<\/a> on goods from much of the world.<\/p>\n

Trump announced the new tariffs after a Supreme Court decision<\/a> found that most of his previous tariffs were illegal.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit also follows a recent federal ruling requiring that money collected under the earlier tariffs be refunded. <\/a>Estimates suggest those refunds could total roughly $175 billion.
