{"id":1311,"date":"2025-10-15T09:53:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T09:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/1311\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T09:53:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T09:53:18","slug":"lower-merion-250-invites-nonprofits-to-join-township-wide-semiquincentennial-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/1311\/","title":{"rendered":"Lower Merion 250\u00a0invites nonprofits to join township-wide Semiquincentennial Celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lower Merion 250 invites nonprofit organizations planning history-related activities in 2026 to join a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainlinemedianews.com\/2025\/07\/14\/local-historic-sites-announce-lower-merion-250th-consortium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">township-wide collaboration marking the nation\u2019s 250th anniversary<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration will feature lectures, walking tours, public festivals, historic preservation projects, and more, all of which will take place in Lower Merion throughout 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Initially spearheaded by Merion Friends Meeting, Harriton Association, the Lower Merion Historical Society, and the Lower Merion Conservancy, Lower Merion 250 will showcase the Township\u2019s diverse stories and cultural resources, including historic sites of national significance.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is open to all non-profit organizations in Lower Merion with plans to commemorate the nation\u2019s Semiquincentennial anniversary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainlinemedianews.com\/2025\/07\/14\/local-historic-sites-announce-lower-merion-250th-consortium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Local historic sites announce \u2018Lower Merion 250th Consortium\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A website and initial calendar of events will be released in the coming months to promote participating organizations and share opportunities for residents and visitors to explore the Township\u2019s unique history.<\/p>\n<p>A kickoff meeting for potential nonprofit partners will be held at the Harriton House on September 9, 2025, at 7:00pm to introduce the initiative and answer questions.<\/p>\n<p>Please RSVP at griffin@merionfriends.org.
