<\/p>\nA millennial woman who often attends auctions and yard sales has stunned the internet with the haul of designer items she managed to get from just one event\u2014including timeless Chanel shoes for just $2.<\/p>\n
Jessica Aitken was left \u201cshaking\u201d after attending an auction on February 16 in rural Pennsylvania, only to leave with a trove of luxury goods. She came away with numerous handbags and boxes of shoes, with brands ranging from Coach, Chanel, Stuart Weitzman and Ferragamo.<\/p>\n
Aitken, 39, was instantly drawn to the shoes at the auction, telling Newsweek that everything was her size and the styles \u201creally caught [her] eye.\u201d She couldn\u2019t resist buying several pairs that were on display, in addition to her new collection of designer bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an assortment of shoes, clothes and purses,\u201d Aitken, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, said. \u201cAs far as shoes, I got two pairs of Chanel flats in the box, two pairs of Stuart Weitzman boots, an amazing pair of Ferragamo riding boots, and some unusual Ferragamo rain boots. I got a bunch of purses including two Prada bags, a Ferragamo bag, two Coach bags and some other vintage designers.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s easy to presume that Aitken spent a small fortune on her haul of secondhand goodies, but it was quite the opposite. All the shoes (including two pairs of Chanel flats, lest we forget) cost just $2, while Aitken spent a meager $3 on all the designer bags<\/a>. Additionally, she left the auction with tote bags filled with clothes, which only set her back $5. \u00a0<\/p>\n So delighted with her collection, Aitken shared a video<\/a> on TikTok (@jessiefindsstuff) showing the amazing items she managed to thrift. Internet users can\u2019t get enough of the unbelievable haul, leading to the video going viral with over 435,100 views and more than 40,900 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.<\/p>\n All the items she bought are in \u201camazing condition,\u201d although they just needed to be cleaned or spruced up a little.<\/p>\n Aitken said: \u201cI wore a pair of the boots the other day and they were so comfortable. It\u2019s funny because I remember wanting these boots years ago, but they were out of my budget then.\u201d<\/p>\n Among the items of clothing<\/a> she got, Aitken chose a 1950s sorority sweater that turned out to be from Alpha Kappa Alpha, which is widely recognized as the oldest and most prestigious black sororities in America. After learning the sweater\u2019s historical and cultural significance, Aitken reached out to the sorority and sent it to them. She told Newsweek that she was \u201chappy to send it back to its home.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n The online reaction to the video is beyond anything Aitken anticipated, as many internet users reached out to praise her incredible trove of items. Thrifting and shopping secondhand<\/a> are among Aitken\u2019s favorite pastimes, and she\u2019s so grateful for everything it\u2019s given her over the years.<\/p>\n \u201cI go to auctions, yard sales, and flea markets weekly. I invest so much time and energy, and I feel like this was an amazing preparation meets opportunity moment,\u201d Aitken said.<\/p>\n The viral response to the video has led to more than 2,200 comments on TikTok so far, as many people were stunned by the shockingly cheap prices<\/a>.<\/p>\n One comment reads: \u201cI’m sorry, did you say $2 for CHANEL and FERRAGAMO?\u201d<\/p>\n Another TikTok user wrote: \u201cI\u2019m screaming at what you paid!!!
