2 women die after car plunges into Lake Erie in Lorain(Julia Thyret | (Source: WOIO))<\/p>\nLORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – Two women have died after their car crashed into Lake Erie at Beaver Park Marina early Friday.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to the marina in the 6100 block of West Erie Ave. around 4:15 a.m. for reports of a downed utility pole at West Erie Avenue and Oak Point Road.<\/p>\n

At the same time officers arrived on scene, dispatch received calls regarding an 18-year-old male who may have entered a nearby home without permission.<\/p>\n
Officers found him and noticed his injuries appeared to be consistent with a car crash.<\/p>\n
The victim told officers he was in the back seat of a car driven by a female acquaintance, with another female acquaintance in the front passenger seat, when the car struck at least one utility pole, left the road, and entered the water.<\/p>\n
According to police, the male victim escaped through a back seat window, but the two females have not been seen since the crash.<\/p>\n
The male victim, whose name is not being released, is being treated at Mercy Health. His condition has not been updated.<\/p>\n
Shortly after 8 a.m., the Lorain Police Underwater Recovery Team found the vehicle in the water.<\/p>\n
One of the victims was found inside the vehicle and a short time later, the second victim was also located.<\/p>\n
Their names have not been released at this time.<\/p>\n
Police added the incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
