Eos Energy to relocate its global headquarters<\/a> from Edison to Pittsburgh<\/a> Eos Energy Enterprises<\/a>, the Edison-based maker of zinc-based battery energy storage<\/a> systems, announced plans to relocate its global headquarters<\/a> to Pittsburgh and significantly expand its manufacturing operations in Allegheny County.\n<\/p>\n The $352.9 million investment<\/a>, supported by $22 million from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and $2 million from Allegheny County, is expected to create 735 new jobs and retain 265 existing positions.\n<\/p>\n The move \u2014 part of Eos\u2019 broader growth initiative known as Project AMAZE<\/a> \u2014 will establish a new 40,000-square-foot headquarters at Nova Place on Pittsburgh\u2019s North Shore in the second half of 2026. Eos will also lease a 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township to add production lines and increase its annual energy storage manufacturing capacity to 8 gigawatt-hours.<\/p>\n Eos, which develops and manufactures aqueous zinc batteries for utility, industrial and commercial power storage, said the expansion underscores its commitment to domestic manufacturing and to advancing energy independence through American-made technology.\n<\/p>\n The company, founded in 2008, currently operates facilities in Turtle Creek, Pa.,<\/a> where it installed a new automated production line in 2024.\n<\/p>\n A loss for NJ<\/p>\n The exit to the Keystone State marks a blow for New Jersey, particularly in spaces such as energy, domestic manufacturing and battery technology.<\/p>\n Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro joined company executives and local officials to announce the relocation and expansion, calling it a major win for his state. \u201cThe demand for energy is going up \u2014 and my Administration is capitalizing on Pennsylvania\u2019s strengths as a national energy leader and net energy exporter to attract leading energy manufacturers like Eos Energy to the Commonwealth,\u201d said Shapiro. \u201cWe\u2019re doubling down on our efforts to aggressively compete for \u2014 and win \u2014 major projects like this one by cutting red tape, building out our skilled workforce, and investing in the next generation of energy technology.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m proud that Pennsylvania will be home to Eos\u2019 new global headquarters \u2014 and my Administration will continue to work to cut energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and position the Commonwealth to continue to be a national energy leader for decades to come,\u201d Shapiro continued.\n<\/p>\n \u2018You can make things in America again\u2019<\/p>\n Eos CEO Joe Mastrangelo<\/a> said the expansion represents the next phase of the company\u2019s growth strategy.\n<\/p>\n \u201cEnergy storage is the backbone of a modern energy system, and this significant milestone marks our progress to bring America\u2019s battery to scale,\u201d Mastrangelo said. \u201cThrough Project AMAZE<\/a>, we\u2019re proving that you can make things in America again by building world-class capacity, pairing advanced manufacturing with innovative software, and doing it here in Pennsylvania to ensure a more energy-efficient and secure future.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Mastrangelo continued, \u201cIn today\u2019s competitive environment, and in what we\u2019re working to achieve in powering the nation\u2019s future, you need not only natural resources and technology innovations, but also a strong public-private partnership.
