TONIGHT, THE OWNERS OF RILEY’S POURHOUSE SAY THEY WANT TO DISPEL RUMORS THAT THEY WILL NOT REOPEN. THEY SAY THEY HOPE TO BREAK GROUND ON THIS LOCATION VERY SOON. ONLY QUESTION IS, WHEN RILEY’S POURHOUSE CO-OWNER JOE RILEY SAYS FOR CERTAIN THAT A NEW IRISH PUB WILL BE BUILT WHERE THE OLD ONE BURNED DOWN. I’M GOING TO GUARANTEE IS THAT WE’RE GOING TO BUILD, WE’RE GOING TO REBUILD RALLIES FOR US, AND IT’S GOING TO BE SOMETHING THAT’S GOING TO SERVE OUR CUSTOMERS AS WELL. RILEY’S POURHOUSE BURNED DOWN 16 MONTHS AGO. SINCE THEN, THE OWNERS HAD TO PUSH THROUGH THE INSURANCE PROCESS, AND THEY HAD TO FIND AN ARCHITECT TO DESIGN THE NEW POURHOUSE. CONCEPT IMAGES WERE REVEALED LAST FALL, BUT ESTIMATED COSTS SURPASSED THEIR BUDGET. SO THEY HAD TO REGROUP WITH THE INITIAL RENDERINGS. WE WE HAD MULTIPLE ESTIMATES. PROPOSALS TO BUILD, AND THEY ALL CAME WAY OVER BUDGET. WASN’T EVEN CLOSE. BUT ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE TO COME WITHIN BUDGET. JOE RILEY SAYS THE FINAL STAGE OF FINANCING IS ALMOST COMPLETE. AFTER THAT, THEY WILL SELECT A CONTRACTOR TO START BUILDING THE NEW IRISH PUB. I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE’RE GOING TO LOOK AT AS, AS WE’RE SELECTING A CONTRACTOR IS SOMEONE WHO’S GOING TO BE ABLE TO START QUICKLY, SO DOES QUICKLY MEAN BY THE END OF THE SECOND QUARTER. I KNOW FROM THE PAST I’VE BEEN SO OPTIMISTIC AND AND IN SAYING CERTAIN DATES, I SURE HOPE SO. ALTHOUGH THE OWNERS OF RILEY’S POURHOUSE DON’T WANT TO GIVE AN EXACT DATE OF WHEN THEY WILL BREAK GROUND. THEY DO SAY THAT CONSTRUCTION WILL RUN 7 TO 9 MONTHS TO BUILD THE NEW RILEY’

Riley’s Pour House draws closer to groundbreaking for rebuild in Carnegie

November 2024 fire destroyed Irish pub on Main Street in Carnegie, Allegheny County

   Updated: 6:55 PM EST Mar 6, 2026

  Editorial Standards ⓘ

Sixteen months after a fire destroyed the popular Riley’s Pour House, the owners say they’ve cleared the most important hurdles in an attempt to rebuild. They are wrapping up the final stage of financing, which will clear the way for choosing a contractor, and then groundbreaking. However, co-owner Joe Riley says they are not committing to an exact date for the groundbreaking event, only that they are hopeful it can happen before the end of the second quarter.”I think one of the things we’re going to look at, as we’re selecting a contractor, is someone who is going to be able to start quickly,” he said.Concept images of the new Riley’s Pour House were revealed last fall, and Riley says the finished product will be everything people are hoping for.”What I’m going to guarantee is that we’re going to rebuild Riley’s Pour House, and it’s going to be something that is going to serve our customers well,” Riley said.Once construction begins, Riley says it will take seven to nine months to complete.

      CARNEGIE, Pa. —

Sixteen months after a fire destroyed the popular Riley’s Pour House, the owners say they’ve cleared the most important hurdles in an attempt to rebuild.

They are wrapping up the final stage of financing, which will clear the way for choosing a contractor, and then groundbreaking.

However, co-owner Joe Riley says they are not committing to an exact date for the groundbreaking event, only that they are hopeful it can happen before the end of the second quarter.

“I think one of the things we’re going to look at, as we’re selecting a contractor, is someone who is going to be able to start quickly,” he said.

Concept images of the new Riley’s Pour House were revealed last fall, and Riley says the finished product will be everything people are hoping for.

“What I’m going to guarantee is that we’re going to rebuild Riley’s Pour House, and it’s going to be something that is going to serve our customers well,” Riley said.

Once construction begins, Riley says it will take seven to nine months to complete.

THE OWNER TODAY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THAT BUSINESS.
