One woman told us it\u2019s been a problem for decades and is only getting worse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cNobody wants to see this, and nobody wants to live by this,\u201d Jeannine Gates told Channel 11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She lives just down the road and passes the trash on Karl Street every day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThis is a health hazard. This is called public safety. This is part of public safety and this is not safe at all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Tires, mattresses, couches, televisions and more all line the street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe have coyotes, raccoons. You\u2019ll see them grazing through here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The dump site is on the City of Pittsburgh\u2019s radar. There\u2019s even a \u201cno dumping\u201d sign threatening a hefty fine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It hasn\u2019t stopped anyone. Jeannine says as soon as some garbage gets picked up, someone comes and dumps more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She\u2019s filed a number of 311 complaints about the problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A spokesperson with Mayor O\u2019Connor\u2019s office told Channel 11 that the spot on Karl Street was cited on January 8, and \u201cBecause it\u2019s city-owned property, it will be cleaned up by the Department of Public Works. The clean and lien team handles this as well as dumping, litter and debris sites around the city.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, there is no timetable for when that\u2019ll happen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThey don\u2019t do Squirrel Hill, Beechview, Baldwin Borough like this. Don\u2019t do the city like this.
