The best opportunity for viewing is expected between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. EST, with activity often peaking around midnight.

Skywatchers are encouraged to head to rural areas away from city lights and find a location with a clear, unobstructed view to the north. Although the display can sometimes be seen with the naked eye, cameras and smartphones tend to capture the colors more vividly. Using a tripod and setting an exposure time of five to 10 seconds can improve results.

Patience is key, as auroral displays can shift, brighten or fade with little warning.

The Northern Lights typically require a strong geomagnetic storm to be visible this far south. However, heightened solar activity in recent days has increased the likelihood that the phenomenon could once again be seen in Pennsylvania skies.

Pennsylvanians may have a chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights tonight, particularly in northern parts…

[6
28,30,29
0":"post-132307","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-pennsylvania","8":"tag-pennsylvania","9":"tag-pennsylvania-headlines","10":"tag-pennsylvania-news
["GET
