{"id":132335,"date":"2026-03-07T18:03:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-07T18:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/132335\/"},"modified":"2026-03-07T18:03:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T18:03:07","slug":"citiparks-begins-recruiting-lifeguards-for-2026-outdoor-pool-season-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/132335\/","title":{"rendered":"Citiparks begins recruiting lifeguards for 2026 outdoor pool season \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH  \u2014 The summer season is quickly approaching, so CitiParks officials are getting ready to hire lifeguards for public pools throughout Pittsburgh. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cAs the City plans opening outdoor pools for the summer, one of the factors is how many lifeguards we have to staff them,\u201d Mayor Corey O\u2019Connor said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Lifeguards are CPR trained and certified by the CitiParks Aquatics team, and the opportunities that follow can lead to employment with the City of Pittsburgh. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to kick off the 2026 lifeguard season and welcome new and returning guards to our pools,\u201d CitiParks Director Eric Sloan said. \u201cThis is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community while gaining skills that can last a lifetime.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Lifeguards must be 15 years old and willing to work at any CitiParks outdoor pool.
