PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — To foster the next generation of innovators, the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition gathered students at Thomas Jefferson University.<\/p>\n
Kids presented their own robotic creations, with a focus on building communication skills for their futures.<\/p>\n
“The students are demonstrating creativity and they’re demonstrating collaboration. But… all of that doesn’t matter if you don’t develop good communication skills so that you can effectively communicate your idea to a decision maker in a way that gets them to act on it,” said Dr. Ron Kander, Founding Dean of the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce at Thomas Jefferson University.<\/p>\n
“The best thing about this, is to see the energy that the students have and how excited they are to actually talk about a STEM project,” he continued.<\/p>\n
The event was held at the Lawrence N. Field DEC Center on the Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus. <\/a><\/p>\n “We have a mission to increase the number of youth in STEM…we want robotics in every neighborhood from cradle to career where students can build their own future,” said Dr. Dia L.
