A Dunmore native who flew aboard a NASA mission is marking a major milestone while inspiring kids and families in Scranton. A packed room at the Everhart Museum listened closely as astronaut Paul Richards shared what it is like to travel beyond Earth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Richards grew up in Dunmore and later became a NASA Mission Specialist. He helped work on the International Space Station, supported the shuttle program, and even took part in work connected to the Hubble Space Telescope.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sunday\u2019s visit marks the 25th anniversary of the STS-102 mission, which launched in 2001.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/lifestyle\/articles\/shaking-off-winter-cabin-fever-232206539.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Shaking off winter cabin fever at Mountainfest;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Shaking off winter cabin fever at Mountainfest <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIt\u2019s just so inspiring and so remarkable, and then hearing him talk about it, it\u2019s just an amazing, amazing thing, right?\u201d New Jersey resident Jenna Maus-Colucci said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI\u2019m a big fan of experiential learning, getting hands-on and doing the hard things that it takes; That\u2019s schooling. It does take tough schooling to do it, but it\u2019s rewarding in the end.
