A Pennsylvania State Trooper was shot and killed Sunday night, March 8, 2026, during a vehicle stop in Chester County.<\/p>\n

Officials said Corporal Timothy O’Connor responded to the Honey Brook area around 8:30 p.m. for the report of an erratic driver.<\/p>\n

He called in the traffic stop and wasn’t heard from after that.<\/p>\n

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro met with O’Connor’s family around midnight, then addressed the media.<\/p>\n

“There are many questions, many of which will go unanswered,” Shapiro said, “But the one thing we absolutely know for certain is that their son, their husband, is a hero. He died protecting others, and that is a noble calling. That is something we’re profoundly grateful for.”<\/p>\n

After shooting O’Connor, it’s believed the driver of the vehicle, a 32-year old Chester County man, took his own life.<\/p>\n
