READING, Pa. \u2013 An effort to stop scammers in their tracks came to the Hispanic Center in Reading on Monday.<\/p>\n
Officials with the state Department of Banking and Securities and the Berks County District Attorney\u2019s Office offered tips to help people recognize scams.<\/p>\n
“It’s very important to provide education, information to all seniors and anyone who may be at risk of being scammed,\u201d ,\u201d said state Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz (D-129th). \u201cI think it’s important to equip people with the necessary tools so they can identify and prevent being victims of scams and fraudulent activity.\u201d<\/p>\n
